Anita Sarkeesian, a Canadian/American media critic is also a speech writer. Feminist Frequency is a channel that hosts videos, comments and an analysis of portrayals in popular cultures. Anita Sarkeesian is an award-winning Canadian-American feminist media critic and blogger. Feminist Frequency is an educational site for non-profit organizations that examines female representations in narratives from popular culture. The challenge of destroying stereotypes regarding women is her main focus. In addition, Sarkeesian discusses issues of specific harassment of women on the internet as well as other communities who are left out. Sarkeesian, who has a Master's in Political and Social Thinking from York University, is a well-known public speaker. She has given speeches at TEDxWomen's XOXO Festival and the United Nations Broadband Working Group to Gender. Interested in issues concerning gender identities and feminisms from at an early age, she created her website Feminist Frequency in the year 2009 when she was still a student at the University. Someone who hoped to start a web-series examining the gender representation of video games, she was targeted by an internet-based campaign. But the assault did have been a hindrance, rather it made her more determined as a feminist critic of media. Her notable contributions to the field of feminists are recognized with numerous prizes. Anita Sarkeesian has been a media critic for several years and was the creator of Feminist Frequency. This educational nonprofit explores women's representations in pop culture narratives.
