Biles together with her sister Adria Biles and Ronald Biles were taken in as infants by their grandparents of Houston. Simone's fascination with gymnastics started at age six after a visit with her day care group to Bannon Gymnastix. Simone remained under Aimee Borman's guidance until the year 2011. Biles was awarded a gold medal in the floor and bronze in vault at the women's Junior Olympic National Championships in 2010, before advancing to the elite level of gymnastics in the year the year 2011. In just two short years, she was the top athlete in her field. Biles stood out for her constant performance her enthusiastic attitude as well as the amount of effort she introduced in each event--vault bar, uneven bars the balance beam, and the ground work.
